How Does the SOM Babes Affiliate Program Work?
Hey Babe! Here's the breakdown of the SOM (Sleep On Me) Babes affiliate program. I will be covering:

But First, What is an affiliate program?
An affiliate program is a way for you to share products that you already love with your readers or viewers and get paid a commission every time they click your link and purchase these products.
How it Works
Here's an example of how the SOM Babes Affiliate program works:
Abby signs up for the affiliate program on shopsleeponme.com
Abby receives a custom link and 10% discount code to share with her friends/followers.
One of Abby's friends/followers (let's call her Ava) clicks her link and/or uses her 10% discount code to purchase an item from the shop. (Let's say the item is $29)
Abby earns 10% of Ava's purchase ($2.90)
Ava signs up for the affiliate program.
Ava receives her link and 10% discount code and gets her friend Mila to purchase an item (say it's $29).
Ava earns 10% of Mila's Purchase ($2.90)
Abby earns 10% of Ava's commission ($2.90 x 10% = $0.29 → $3.19 total earnings)
If Mila signs up to become an affiliate, and gets her friend Emma to make a purchase ($29), Mila earns 10% ($2.90), and Ava earns 10% ($0.29) of Mila's commission
*Abby does NOT earn any % of Mila's Commissions.
Another Example:
Abby signs up for the affiliate program.
Abby receives a custom link and 10% discount code to share with her friends/followers.
Ten of Abby's friends/followers (let's call them Ava, Sophia, Audrey, Ella, Charlotte, Evelyn, Grace, Hannah, Allison, and Gabrielle) click her link and/or use her 10% discount code to purchase an item from the shop. (Let's say the items are $29 each)
Abby earns 10% of Ava, Sophia, Audrey, Ella, Charlotte, Evelyn, Grace, Hannah, Allison, and Gabrielle's purchases ($29 x 10 purchases = $290 x 10% = $29 total earnings)
5 of them sign up for the affiliate program. (Ava, Sophia, Audrey, Ella, and Charlotte)
Ava, Sophia, Audrey, Ella, and Charlotte receive their links and 10% discount codes and get their friends/followers to make purchases.
They all earn 10% of those purchases.
Abby also earns 10% of Ava, Sophia, Audrey, Ella, and Charlotte's commission (let's say together they earned $290 x 10% = $29 → $58 total earnings)
*If you plug in bigger numbers (example: 20 sales, 10 referrals) you will see that the higher your sales/referrals are, the higher your commissions are.
What and How you get Paid
So, when you become an SOM Babe, you earn 10% of all sales made using your link and/or discount code. Every time you get a friend/follower to become an SOM Babe, you earn 10% of all of their commissions + your own 10% commissions.
You will be paid weekly via PayPal and only need to earn $5 to receive your payout.
If you do really well selling/referring, you may be issued a 1099 Form to file with your tax return. This is a good thing! Depending on your personal goals. If you're only looking to fund a Starbucks habit, then I wouldn't worry about it. But if you want to pay bills, buy groceries, or help out your family, you may eventually have to pay taxes on your higher earnings. This program can be a casual (one sale a month) thing, or it can be serious business (one or more sales a day). It's totally up to you.
One important thing to know is you DO NOT have to recruit new affiliates. If you just want to earn 10% of your sales, that is totally okay. I, nor anyone else will be harassing you to recruit. However, your commissions will be sweeter if you recruit and get that extra bonus 10% on top of your 10%. Remember, if your recruits make sales, you get 10% of their commissions too!
How to Get Started Earning Money
So, now you understand what it means to be an SOM Babe. Now there's a few ways you can get started earning money. But before that, you need to sign up for the affiliate program.
Once you're signed up, here's a few ways to get started earning:
You can purchase a sample box (or just one single item) and try out the products for yourself (use code "SOMBabes" for 20% off). Then use the products to create content (post photos or videos - I will repost!) for your blog, YouTube channel, or social media, sharing your custom shop link (in your bio, caption, description, it's up to you) and/or your custom discount code (in your bio, caption, or description). Your friends/followers see you using the product, and click your link/use your discount code to try the product themselves. And You start earning!
You can simply not purchase anything and just share your link and/or discount code on your blog, YouTube channel or social media. However, you may not get the commissions you're looking for because people need to see that you've tried the product to trust your recommendation. But if you think you can sell the product without trying it yourself, I'd say go for it!
You can share the products in person with your family and friends. Once they see how amazing the products are, you can send them your custom link and/or discount code via text message and start earning after their purchase!
You can bring the samples or single item to work, school, or anywhere your lifestyle takes you and casually use the products. Share with the people around you and share your discount code or send your link to them via text message or DM or email (it's up to you) to start earning after they purchase.
Encourage your friends/family/coworkers/classmates to sign up for the program so they can earn too! You'll receive 10% of their commissions (on top of your own 10% commission).
